How to Connect an Electric Meter to the mainline
- The first step is to connect line hot wires to the digital meter. The lines shall be connected into the meter box through an underground feed. For this purpose, the service wires should not be live while connecting it to the meter.
- The next step is to connect the load hot wires. In this step, the power to the main source should be wired. For doing this, strip the ends of the two hot load wires and connect to the bottom two load terminals on the meter’s hot bus bar.
- The third step is to connect the ground wires. The system has a separate grounding wire that leads from the meter box to a grounding rod buried in the earth.
- Finally, connect the neutral line and load wires. The neutral are marked with white tape.
How to Use Digital Power Meter
The 3 phase electric meter is easy to use and has buttons that control all of its features. For operating the power meter, you need a source of electricity. Plug the power meter into a power source to an electrical outlet. After that, plug the electrical device into the power meter while the meter is turned off or on. Once the digital meter is turned on and the appliance is plugged into the electrical output in the back of the power meter, the readings can be taken.
